Take the next step in your global career
As the premier institution for global leadership and management education, Thunderbird is more than just a school—it is a dynamic global network of leaders, managers, entrepreneurs, and intrapreneurs spanning both the private and public sectors. For nearly 80 years, Thunderbird has been at the forefront of developing future-forward, future-ready, global leaders. For the third consecutive year, Thunderbird has been recognized as the world leader in international trade, a distinction awarded by Quacquarelli Symonds, the prestigious global authority on higher education rankings, in its 2025 International Trade Rankings. This recognition positions Thunderbird as the No. 1 school in the world, ranking ahead of institutions such as Columbia University, University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, and IMD in Switzerland.
Global presence
Throughout its rich history, Thunderbird has expanded its global presence, establishing itself as the world’s first truly ‘multinational business school.’ Committed to developing the next generation of global and digital leaders, Thunderbird stands apart with a regional network that spans the globe—from Los Angeles to Tokyo, Amsterdam to Guadalajara and Mexico City. This extensive footprint enables us to deliver academic and executive education programs in major commercial hubs, foster connections within our vast worldwide alumni network, and drive international recruiting efforts. With a robust network across Latin America, Thunderbird School of Global Management has forged strategic partnerships with leading organizations to address the region’s unique challenges.
Master of Global Management (MGM)
Ranked No. 1 by QS for international trade (2023-2025), Thunderbird’s full-time Master of Global Management (MGM) program prepares graduates to lead diverse, cross-cultural teams in private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. As part of the program’s capstone experience, students participate in the Global Challenge Lab—a hands-on, multinational consulting project where students travel abroad and apply their skills to solve real-world business challenges.
The STEM advantage
Master of Global Management concentrations that are STEM-certified meet special F-1 international student status requirements. This means that international students who graduate with an MGM with one of these concentrations qualify for a 24-month extension to their Optional Practical Training in the United States beyond the 12 months already provided to international students in non-STEM degrees.
